Michelangelo was an Italian renaissance sculptor,architect,painter. He was born on March 6,1475-February 18,1564. Michelangelo created many of the art that we think of today. Michelangelo was raised in florence. Michelangelo was considered the greatest artist of his lifetime. At thirteen, Michelangelo was apprenticed to the painter [[/wiki/Domenico_Ghirlandaio|Domenico Ghirlandaio]]. Michelangelo created two of the most influencial works in fresco. He was the first western artist who's biography was published while he was still alive. Two biographies were published of him during hislifetime. Michelangelo had a very long life wich made him a principle figure of the renaissance. Michelangelo was considered a humanist because he made a hero out of a man.

Machiavelli was born on May 3, 1469-June 21,1521. Machiavelli is significant to the renaissance because he is known as the father of political science and is ranked as one of the most highest political figures during the renaissance. Machiavelli wrote the prince saying how rulers should rule. Machiavelli was part of the leading council in Florence. Machiavelli had the aspects of humanism because he wrote hi master piece, "The Prince".
